day 1

Hi to all our friends at Aspire Church - partners in prayer! Today is the start of 10 days of prayer and fasting. We have uploaded some prayer points to the aspire.church website - just select “prayer” from the menu. But in short, pray for personal growth, spiritual growth, church growth, and financial growth.

Today focus on the first one - to grow personally. This could relate to any areas of life - to go higher than you have been before!

Here’s some insights:

In Mark 10:46-52 we read the story of a blind beggar named Bartimaeus calling out to Jesus. Jesus responded to him and asked him to come. So he threw off his beggars coat, jumped up and came to Jesus.

  • when Jesus asks us to come and be in His presence we need to respond straight away. We may at times feel a reluctance (particularly when in bed, or busy doing something else), but lets not miss the opportunities when the Holy Spirit is stirring in our hearts.
  • also we need to leave behind the vestiges of the past, the things that used to define us. No doubt Bartimaeus had spent years begging, but now anticipated a new future and “threw aside his coat.” If we plan to grow, lifestyle changes will need to be made. What do you need to change?

Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” He responded, “I want to see!” Jesus responds declaring, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly he could see, and followed Jesus!

  • be specific in that which you pray for. It seemed obvious that Barimaeus was blind, yet he needed to declare in “faith” what he was believing for! What are you praying and believing for? So make a list of things you are praying and believing for!

Day 2

Pray that you will GROW in CONFIDENCE as you ASPIRE to go Higher than you have been before in life & your SPHERE of INFLUENCE.

Psalm 57:2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.

  • God will fulfil His purpose for me! He will hide me under the shadow of His wings (v1), He will send help from heaven! (v3) ... when I cry out to Him.

Psalms 57:5
5 Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens!
May your glory shine over all the earth.

Psalms 57:7
7 My heart is confident in you, O God;
my heart is confident.
No wonder I can sing your praises!
